3월, 다시 개장한 서문시장 야시장 방문기

안녕하세요!
드디어 3월부터 다시 개장한 서문시장 야시장에 다녀왔습니다.
“가야지, 가야지” 하면서도 계속 미루다가, 드디어 방문하게 되었어요!

예전과 달라진 서문시장 야시장

예전에 런닝맨 촬영이 서문시장 야시장에서 진행되었을 때,
광수, 엑소 디오, 김종국 등이 등장했던 기억이 나는데요.
그 당시만 해도 서문시장은 항상 사람이 많아서 북적였었죠.

하지만 이번에 방문한 서문시장 야시장은… 예상과 달리 한산했습니다. 😢
주말에는 사람이 많다고 하지만, 제가 갔던 평일에는 정말 휑~ 했어요.

줄을 서지 않고 원하는 음식을 바로 먹을 수 있다는 점은 좋았지만,
상인분들의 입장을 생각하니 마음이 복잡해졌습니다.

첫 번째 메뉴: 불먹은 쭈꾸미 & 미니족발

여러 가게를 둘러보다가 가장 먼저 선택한 메뉴는
‘불먹은 쭈꾸미 in 미니족발’ 이었습니다!

야시장 입구에서 사람들이 이 메뉴를 많이 들고 나오는 걸 보고,
“이건 꼭 먹어봐야겠다!” 싶어서 찾아갔어요.

하지만… 정말 사람이 없었네요. 😥

🔥 불먹은 쭈꾸미 + 🐷 미니족발, 과연 맛은?
✔️ 쭈꾸미는 매콤하면서도 불향이 가득!
✔️ 족발은 조금 아쉬운 맛
✔️ 맵기를 잘 못 먹는 나에게는 살짝 매운 편

둘이서 나눠 먹었는데 1인분으로는 부족해서, 더 먹기로 결정!
이날은 완전 배고파서 뭐든 다 먹을 기세였어요. 😂

두 번째 메뉴: 미대생 스테이크

야시장을 쭉 걸으며 다양한 가게를 구경하던 중,
‘미대생 스테이크’ 라는 가게가 눈에 띄었습니다.

미대생이라서 더 끌렸던 것도 있고, ㅎㅎ 궁금해서 바로 주문!

✔️ 두툼한 소고기 스테이크 한 접시 – 6,000원
✔️ 가격은 저렴하지도, 비싸지도 않은 적당한 수준
✔️ 추가 토핑으로 새우도 함께 주문!

고기와 야채가 눈앞에서 맛있게 구워지는 모습을 보니 더욱 기대됐습니다.
특히, 새우가 정말 맛있게 구워져서 기대감 UP!

🍽️ 미대생 스테이크, 만족도는?
✔️ 고기는 살짝 질긴 느낌이 있었지만, 소스가 맛있음
✔️ 함께 추가한 새우가 최고!
✔️ 우리 둘 다 만족한 메뉴!

세 번째 메뉴: 호박식혜

살짝 배를 채운 후, “뭘 더 먹을까?” 고민하며 걷다가
호박식혜를 발견했습니다.

예전에 무한도전에서 하하가 호박식혜를 만드는 걸 보고 처음 알았는데,
서문시장에서 직접 보니 반가워서 바로 구매했어요!

✔️ 호박식혜, 맛은?
✔️ 깔끔하고 달콤하지만, 기대했던 진한 맛은 아님
✔️ 살짝 밍밍한 느낌, 나쁘진 않지만 쏘쏘

네 번째 메뉴: 삼겹살김밥

야시장에서 사진으로 많이 보았던 삼겹살김밥도 도전!
가게들이 많이 바뀌었지만, 여전히 먹을 것이 많고 흥미로웠어요.

삼겹살을 바로 앞에서 구워주는데, 보는 재미도 쏠쏠!
✔️ 삼겹살 + 상추 + 각종 재료 = 직접 싸서 먹는 재미
✔️ 노래 부르는 학생이 있어서, 감미로운 라이브 공연과 함께 식사 🎶
✔️ 소소한 데이트 분위기까지 더해져서 기분 최고!

이쯤 먹으니 배가 부르기 시작했습니다.
“너무 많이 먹었나?” 싶었지만, 사실이라 기록합니다. ㅋㅋㅋ

마지막 메뉴: 오꼬노미야끼

배부르지만, 야시장을 마무리하면서 ‘일전’이라는
오꼬노미야끼 가게를 발견했습니다.

여긴 원래 포장마차가 있는 쪽이 아니라, 반대편 속옷가게 근처에 위치해 있어서
더 눈에 띄었어요.

✔️ 가게 분위기가 고급스럽고 독특해서 흥미로웠음
✔️ 오꼬노미야끼는 처음 먹어보는 거라 신기한 느낌
✔️ “이게 뭐야?” 싶었지만, 집에서 보니 맛있어 보임 😂

바로 먹을까 하다가 포장해서 집으로 가져갔습니다.

✔️ 안에는 우동면, 삼겹살, 야채 등이 가득!
✔️ 먹을수록 점점 더 맛있어짐
✔️ 이걸 다 먹고 나서야 배가 가득 찼음… 내 자신에게 놀람.

총평: 배 터질 만큼 먹고, 기분 좋은 야시장 데이트!

너무 많이 먹어서 돈도 꽤 썼고, 살도 찐 것 같지만…
오랜만에 서문시장 야시장에 가서 소소한 데이트를 즐길 수 있어 행복했습니다! 😊

대구에서 갈 곳이 한정적이라 가끔 지루했는데,
야시장 덕분에 다양한 음식을 맛보며 특별한 시간을 보낼 수 있었어요.

다음에는 주말에 방문해서 더 활기찬 분위기를 즐겨봐야겠어요! 😆

Seomun Market Night Market Reopens in March!

I finally visited Seomun Market Night Market, which officially reopened in March.
I had been telling myself to go for a while, and I finally made it!

How Has Seomun Market Night Market Changed?

I remember when Running Man filmed here, featuring Kwangsoo, EXO’s D.O., and Kim Jongkook.
Back then, Seomun Market was always packed with people.

But when I visited this time, it was unexpectedly quiet and empty. 😢
I heard that weekends still attract crowds, but on the weekday I went, it was nearly deserted.

It was nice not having to wait in long lines for food,
but at the same time, I couldn’t help but feel bad for the vendors—the atmosphere was definitely different from before.

First Stop: Spicy Stir-fried Baby Octopus & Mini Jokbal (Pig’s Feet)

After walking around and checking out different stalls, the first thing we tried was “Fire-grilled Jjukkumi & Jokbal.”

At the entrance of the night market, I saw so many people carrying this dish,
so naturally, I was curious and had to try it for myself!

💨 But as you can see from the photos… the night market was pretty empty. 😥

🔥 The verdict on Fire-Grilled Jjukkumi & Jokbal?
✔️ Jjukkumi (baby octopus) had a delicious smoky, spicy flavor
✔️ Jokbal was slightly disappointing, not as flavorful as expected
✔️ For someone who isn’t great with spicy food, it was just a bit too much

We shared the portion, but it wasn’t enough,
so we decided to keep eating—our appetite was unstoppable that day!

Second Stop: Art Student’s Steak (미대생 스테이크)

As we strolled through the market, a sign caught my attention: “Art Student’s Steak.”
Being an art student myself, I felt an instant connection and had to give it a try!

✔️ Thick beef steak for 6,000 KRW
✔️ Not too expensive, but not exactly cheap either—just a reasonable price
✔️ Saw they had shrimp as a topping, so I added that to my order!

Watching the steak and veggies grill right in front of me made my mouth water.
And the shrimp? It looked even better than the steak!

🔥 How was it?
✔️ The beef was a bit tough, but the sauce was flavorful
✔️ The shrimp was hands-down the best part—absolutely delicious!
✔️ Both of us enjoyed it, so it was a solid choice!

Third Stop: Pumpkin Sikhye (Korean Sweet Rice Punch)

After filling up a little, we continued walking, looking for something new to try.
That’s when I spotted Pumpkin Sikhye!

I remember seeing Haha make pumpkin sikhye on Infinite Challenge,
so seeing it in person at Seomun Market was nostalgic!

🎃 How did it taste?
✔️ It was light, sweet, and refreshing
✔️ Not as rich or thick as I expected—slightly on the bland side
✔️ Not bad, but also not mind-blowing—just okay!

Fourth Stop: Samgyeopsal Kimbap (Pork Belly Kimbap)

One of the foods I had seen all over social media was Samgyeopsal Kimbap.
Since I was already eating my way through the market, I figured, why not try this too?

The best part?
They grilled the pork belly fresh right in front of us!

✔️ Wrapped the pork belly with lettuce and other ingredients—like a mini ssam (Korean lettuce wrap)
✔️ A student was singing live on stage nearby, which added to the cozy atmosphere
✔️ With good food and live music, it turned into a really enjoyable, casual date night!

At this point, I was finally starting to feel full.
But did that stop me from eating more? Of course not.

Final Stop: Okonomiyaki from “Iljeon”

Just as we were about to leave, we walked past a food stall called “Iljeon” that sold okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancakes).

This wasn’t in the usual night market section—it was actually on the opposite side near some clothing stores.
The stall had a cool, stylish atmosphere, so it instantly caught my attention.

I had never tried okonomiyaki before, so my first reaction was:
“What is this? Why does it look like that? What even is this?” 😂

Instead of eating it right away, I decided to take it home.

✔️ The packaging was cute and well-done
✔️ I didn’t even realize the name of the stall until I saw the box at home!
✔️ When I opened it at home, it actually looked much tastier than I first thought

Inside, it was packed with udon noodles, pork belly, vegetables, and other ingredients.
At first, I wasn’t sure if I was eating it the right way,
but the more I ate, the more I enjoyed it!

By the time I finished this, I was finally stuffed.
I even surprised myself—how did I eat this much?! 😂

Final Thoughts: A Night of Food, Fun & Full Stomachs!

I ate so much that night, spent more money than expected, and probably gained some weight…
but it was all worth it!

Being in Daegu, I sometimes feel like I run out of fun places to visit,
but going back to Seomun Market Night Market made for a fun, memorable date night.

Next time, I’d love to visit on a weekend when the market is busier,
but for now, I’m just happy I finally got to experience it again!
